SLEEP DISORDERS INCLUDING OBSTRUCTIVE SLEEP APNEA, NARCOLEPSY, AND INSOMNIA
People spend 6-10 hours a day sleeping and disorders of sleep cause daytime sleepiness, inattention, fatigue, weight gain, heart disease, and stroke. The most common cause of disturbed sleep is obstructive sleep apnea when the patient snores loudly, stops breathing, and puts stress on the heart and brain. Other disorders include movements of legs that prevent deep sleep, difficulty falling asleep, difficulty staying asleep, and narcolepsy. HNI has three board certified sleep physicians who provide sleep consultation, sleep studies, C.P.A.P. studies, Multiple Sleep Latency Tests (MSLT), Maintenance of Wakefulness Tests (MWT), and most importantly sleep follow up. We monitor compliance with C.P.A.P. equipment, mask leaks, and troubleshoot problems that prevent therapy. We offer a complimentary monthly session with a respiratory therapist to troubleshoot any equipment or breathing issues. HNI sleep physicians monitor Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) compliance as well. We also provide Home Sleep Testing (HST). HNI is a full service sleep center.
